Would you send your kid to play ball for this guy?
The reporter taking that verbal smackdown was probably just praying for the floor to open so she could crawl back into her hole.
You can read the back story here. (Thanks Juice)
I got a lotta problems with you people!
"Would you send your kid to play ball for this guy?"
I dunno, but he sure as hell made the kid look like even more of a pussy with his tirade.

Completely disagree. It wasn't the kid. It wasn't his mother. It wasn't his father.
It was a completely stand-up thing to do and does not reflect poorly on the kid in the slightest.
Some douchebag reporter tried to get cute and she got served.
One of the better clips I've seen in some time.

Not saying the reporter isn't a douchebag for writing that crap. But it wasn't THAT bad. It's not like she called him a child molester. It was just poor journalism that should be taken as such. The coach didn't need bring up the mom going to see him or it being all about "when you have a child you might understand." The "kid" is 21 years old. Why not let him respond? Whether or not he ends up playing professionally, at some point he's gonna need to develop some thicker skin. Coach and Mommy don't need to be fighting his battles anymore.

I thought it was awesome and yes, I'd send my kid to play for that guy in a heartbeat.

What's your basis for saying the kid does not have thick skin? Where are you getting that stuff from?
A coach stood up for his player. He stood up strong. He stood up honorably.
The kid could have the thickest skin in the world and the coach would have done exactly the same thing.
One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Coach was the one at the podium, so he had first crack at it. And the kid may have been classy / unaffected by the whole thing - I dunno. But it bugged the coach, so he had something to say about it.

Obviously I don't know for sure if he does or not. But the coach mentioned several times that the player was "heartbroken." When I combine that with the fact that all of the action has been taken by Mom and Coach to this point, it seems like a reasonable conjecture.

I agree that it's great that the coach was willing to say something to defend his player. However, it might have been better to avoid looking completely insane while doing it.

One man's insanity, is another man's passion.
