Sorry, I wrote like 6 titles and I can't come up with anything that doesn't make me seem like a douche for posting this but ultimately it's a pretty amazing piece of video and I think an important one. It is however very graphic so do not hit play if you have a hard time handling that type of thing.
Her name was Neda and she was out walking in the streets of Iran with her dad. I'm not sure if they were actively protesting or just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some people are calling her a martyr which of course is absurd and others are calling her the face of a revolution. All I know is that I can't stop watching it and I have no idea what that says about me. That helpless look in her eyes when she stares at the camera while haunting is almost addictive. It makes you realize how lucky you are not to be living in a country experiencing a bloody revolution while at the same time wishing you could have been there to stop such senseless fucking terror.
Sometimes there's just not enough scotch.
The regime sends out snipers and thugs to terrorize the protesters. Thugs on motorbikes spend the day singling out people chasing them down and then they beat them to death with batons. This one got sniped by a cop on a roof top across the street.
One of the Iranian officials at the UN yesterday held a press conference and said that CNN (yes the news ppl) was training protesters to hack the gov't servers so they could shut down it's internal communications. These people are fucking backward. But who didn't know that.

After Kruger's description I got a mental picture of Persians in Mad Max gear circling civilians.
It's called the Islamic Republic of Iran. Any time you put a religion in the title of your country, you're in the dark ages.

Why did I hit play?

Yesterday, people were talking about her being a teenager, and said that was her dad telling her not to be afraid.
Then I saw the news story saying she was 26 or 27 yesterday afternoon.
As of this morning, the story on this chick is that she was in her 20's, and her boyfriend tried to convince her not to go out to protest, afraid she'd get hurt in the process. She went anyway. (He had provided a very beautiful picture of her for the news to put up.)
Regardless, its all very sad, of course. I just wish I knew who she really was...

"Sorry, I wrote like 6 titles and I can't come up with anything that doesn't make me seem like a douche for posting this"
So you settled on "..." ? See, it's not the title that makes you seem like a douche. Nonetheless, a simple "This is Fucked Up" always suffices in these situations.

It's a "Faces of Death" kind of clip, is what it is. I watched it a few times. I don't know why.
Sometimes there's just not enough scotch.
I couldn't have said it any better.

I watched this despite the warning.
Sometimes, when people complain to me about their lives, I like to point out to them that just by virture of living in this country, they are doing better than 99% of the world. This young lady falls into that unfortunate 99%.
Klompus had the tagline right.

Truth. About two weeks ago I found out for the first time who John & Kate Plus 8 were. And I found myself disturbed. Similar to finding out who Perez Hilton was, I had to question what the FUCK this world was coming to. Then you see something like what Vandelay posted, and it slaps you right across your Chevy Chase.

Someone posted on my facebook last night that they were very upset because Jon and Kate are victims of our media driven society.
No really.

This is what happens when religion mixes with politics. Church and State? Separate. Everywhere. 'Nuff said.

I really didn't need to see that.
