A Prostitution Problem
Oh how the holier-than-thou have fallen. Eliot Spitzer has himself a Prostitution Problem.
March 10 (Bloomberg) -- New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has told his aides that he was involved in a prostitution ring, the New York Times reported, citing an administration official. The governor is scheduled to make a statement at 2:15 p.m. New York time from his Manhattan offices, according to his schedule, which provides no further details.Free night of NYC's Finest Crack, Hookers and Booze for the first AofGer to post pictures. (Props to Ocho Ocho for the heads up.)
no misuse of the word "ironic" here...

Yeah, wasn't this the guy that vowed to clean up Albany?

Put me down for one of those 7 diamonds!

I feel bad for not feeling bad

The hell? He's not a moralizing anti-sex Republican! How dare he get caught paying for sex.

re: kaplan - hilarious.
Funny thing is, I was also thinking "wonder what you get from a 7-diamond that makes it worth $5500/hour... hmm...."

Christ, this shit gets old fast.

I gotta think its just like any other diamond purchase, diminishing marginal returns the more diamond you buy. Plus a 3Diamond or so has more to prove and is hungrier. Who wants a prostitute who is resting on her laurels?

Hell, for free hookers, Spitzer might show up and post pics himself!

So much for Responsibilty Road, eh Eliot.
That's right - the AofG Called it first, again.

I hope they make you eat a whole bag of dicks in prison, Eliot. Enjoy being the subject of a federal interstate commerce investigation, Lying Douchebag.

Good call, Coz.
Anyone ever wonder how the fuck these guys get their wives who look like they just got hit by a train to stand beside them at a podium when they're giving these press conferences announcing that they've been cheating on them for years?
Posted by: Art Vandelay | March 11, 2008 at 09:39 AM
Did anyone read he preferred not to wrap it, but the ho made him?
Classy. He's lucky they are not reporting both he and his wife have a severe case of Herpes.
Although, maybe if she would service him more, he wouldn't be going to a 'tute the day before Valentine's Day.

Yup, caught it. Some folks were thinking that meant kink -- obviously not.
As for your second point, the show's not ever yet...and the first thing I thought when I read that portion of the texts was that this thing has the potential to get a whole lot uglier than this.
Nice call, Coz.

It's amazing how blown-out this crap gets. It must be because people invest way too much in their favorite politicians. You can't accomplish what Spitzer has without a lot of good friends in high places. And in the world of politics nobody will be your friend unless you're at least a little bit dirty. That way when the axe falls people have their insurance policy on you in case you're looking to bail on them. That's what these scandals are all about. Some go for hookers, some go for easy money, some go for golf trips to Scotland. As long as you're dirty then you can start to get things done.
Wake up New York. If he's good enough to take down the mob, multinational corporations, and teflon coated politicians then he's good enough to at least finish his term. You're not going to get better than this.

"It's amazing how blown-out this crap gets..."
Yawn.
He rode into down on his sanctmionious high horse and all the while he's bringing his dirty dick home to his wife and three kids.
He loses and any HO NO! and other scorn he catches is more than well-deserved.
Glass houses, stones. Pots, kettles.

Kruger - The AofG has always been clear on this point:
Eliot Spitzer was a low-down lying douchebag before he kept a line of credit with this escort service for ready access to bareback action.
Eliot Spitzer was a low-down lying douchebag while he kept a line of credit with this escort service for ready access to bareback action.
Eliot Spitzer will be a low-down lying douchebag long after we've all forgotten that he kept a line of credit with this escort service for ready access to bareback action.
OK, well maybe we won't forget that he kept a line of credit active to ensure ready access to bareback 'tutes, but still, you get the point. We can and will do better.

So, Kruger, you are ok with a guy who runs on a platform of ethics and morals (very likely) having unprotected sex with prostitutes and then presumably having the same with his wife?

Chiles, that's their business not mine. He could be screwing manatees for all I care. If I was a NY resident I'd be looking at what he's getting done during work not after.
His ethics policies most likely apply corruption and internal governmental affairs. His morals? That's his personal crap. He's a politician, I automatically assume they're below average- that's all I need (want) to know.
Posted by: Mr. Kruger | March 11, 2008 at 03:06 PM
"Chiles, that's their business not mine."
He voluntarily and gladly entered the world of public life. At that moment, his business became everyone's business. Is what it is.
Do I personally care what he's doing with whores? No.
Do I think this news coming out will undermine his ability to govern when his political castle is built upon ethics and morals? Absolutely.
He needs to go.
Posted by: jackie | March 11, 2008 at 03:46 PM
Its not about the sex itself (granted Wall Street would still be giving each other high fives). Its about him prosecuting prostitution rings on one hand and then paying a prostitute on the other.
It would seem to pose a small conflict of interest and open him up to blackmail, etc.

Well, that's the issue really. If he has the support of the voters behind him I'm sure he can. Case in point: Bill Clinton.

$80G's?!?!?!?
That is a lot of cake.
And I'm sure if they know about that much, there is much more.
D-I-R-T-Y.
