Grievers-
I can't tell you how excited I am to welcome Assman, Klompus and Art Vandelay in to the AofG fold. Based on what we've seen from their prior work, they fit right in with our cynical humanist worldview and will help take us to our rightful place among the elite.
Assman's, Vandelay & Kompus' arrival brings with it a bit of sad news, for me at least. Outside of coordinating this past year's Festivus celebration and contributing the occasional post, I've been pretty much absent from the proceedings for the past 18 months. I have a new job now, part of which entails my writing and being creative for a living and all of which consumes a great deal of time. And, to reveal a truth unknown to everyone but myself, the work I did on this little indulgence was the best I've ever done for AofG, my peak on this blog. One of the reasons I've been so quiet since then is that everything I've produced in its wake has just felt to me like a creative letdown. So, I want to remember everything I did here in a positive light and working on a blog, especially one that embraces controversy as we often do, introduces a whole host of ethical issues that I won't be able to get around if I want to stay gainfully employed.
So, it's time to make it official: I'm still around, I'll still jot down the occasional diatribe when it suits, but my status is to be thought of from here on out as strictly Part-Time, a Guest Poster. A Chairman Emeritus, if you will. It's Cozmo, Jackie, Assman, Vandelay and Klompus' show now (though, really, it's been their show all along, I just hung out from time to time). As part of my retirement, I leave complete and total editorial control in the hand of my capable attorney Jackie Chiles, who, let's face it, is probably the only reason you're still reading us in the first place.
In the words of my friend, Mr. Kramer, upon losing a certain contest, "I'M OUT!!!"

Frank,
You are the reason I even have a weblog to call my own, and you've been a great friend.
I'm sad to see you put yourself out to pasture, but I know its for bigger and better things, my man.
Don't be afraid to stop on and comment from time to time, boss. You're still the spiritual father of the Grievances, and we still need the guidance.

Godfather Frank is leaving us in his wake. A very sad day for the Original AofG Crew. Seriously.
On a personal note, I owe Frank a huge debt of gratitude for starting this site and being kind enough to bring me aboard. Not only have we had tons of fun here at The Grievances, but I've made a lifelong friend in the process. A lifelong friend who is one of the most informed, witty, down to earth and generally cool people I know. A dude who can write his fucking ass off and whenever he puts finger to keyboard just flat out brings it.
The pleasure has been all mine, Frank. Congrats on starting a new chapter in your story. I'm sure you will knock 'em dead. Be sure to pop in now and again and hit us up with your Nasty Niceness. You will be missed. Sorely.
Your boy,
Jackie

That diary on Africa was truly one of the coolest things I've ever read on the internets. Good luck to you Frank. We'll hold the fort down around here.

"That diary on Africa was truly one of the coolest things I've ever read on the internets."
Incredibly nice touch with the farewell pic.

OK, I know this probably isn't the forum to admit this, but there must be something wrong with the mothballs that I kept in storage with my vintage cabana-wear, because, no joke, my eyes are rather watery right now. Thanks so much for the kind thoughts, you have no idea how much they mean
