O, using that line of thinking, you might also want to seek out all the descendants of the African slave owners that sold them to the European-American slave owners. Slaves in America weren't exactly free statesmen in Africa that just happened to be plucked off the street shoved onto a boat. As well, if everyone took that approach, it wouldn't be difficult to find another whose ancestral lineage somehow fucked with theirs.

Aside from that, I don't take responsibility for the actions of other white people, past or present. I take responsibility for my actions and my children's actions. I learn from them, yes. But I don't apologize because we share the same lineage.

Not that it matters, but the Muslims were the original slave traders. The word "slave" finds its origins in the word "Slavic" as eastern Europeans were the predominant slave race early on. Muslims travelled eastern Europe buying slaves and taking them back to sell in the Persian slave markets.

In southern Africa, Tetse(sp?)Flies posed a huge problem to the Muslim ivory trade. All of the hooved animals they would ordinarily use to transport the ivory to the markets of northeastern Africa would be decimated by the flies. Black slaves were their solution. The ivory merchants bought black slaves and used them to carry the ivory to market, then sold the slaves when they reached their destination.

And, yes, blacks did sell blacks into slavery. In fact, in the Treaty of 652AD, the king of Nubia agreed to give to the Nation of Islam an annual payment of a number of his people (the exact number seems to be lost) for certain considerations.

So if you want to go back and blame the people who originally started buying and selling black slaves, blame the folks in North Africa. The Europeans learned it from them.

a.) Pro comedians get heckled all the time. It's part of the job. If I wait tables at Cracker Barrel and my customer is a jackass, I don't get to slap the shit out of him, whether he deserves it or not. He's got to outwit them or ask to have them removed.

b.) There's a difference between a comedy act and calling someone a racial slur in an attempt to belittle them. If Chris Rock goes on stage and belittles specific white people in the crowd outside of his act, then he's out of line. But that's not what he does, so people like him and Jackie Martling and Lisa Lampanelli don't get this kind of reaction.
