I would go with the "they all look alike" route, but I think this one's just a case of an uninformed wannabe buffoon. Fairly high comedy.

He was covered up pretty good. Certainly a stupid mistake but I don't think ARE had to be such a dick about it.

not his fault--they weren't even wearing their numbers.
seriously, way too harsh on the guy. probably not even a sports reporter, just sent out to cover the parade, (and what the hell do you ask the players anyway, "how does it feel to win???). his producer probably whispered the wrong name in his earpiece anyway.
props for his comebacks, re: dumb blonde, and sending the reel in to dick clark for a blooper show. too harsh.
