Your "Dick Cheney is evil" reminder for the day, courtesy of the Republican ex-State Department Chief of Staff, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson. Wilkerson said that during the build-up to war, Bush was too far removed from the decision-making and made the decision to follow Cheney and Rumselfeld's vision of military power rather than Powell's. Check this knowledge:
Cheney's office, Rumsfeld aides and others argued "that the president of the United States is all-powerful, that as commander in chief the president of the United States can do anything he damn well pleases," Wilkerson said.
Yikes. Spreading American values abroad, eh, Dick? Seems the world has learned the lesson Dick and Rummy have been teaching all too well.
Colonel, The AofG would like to buy you a shot of Jager for soundin' off like you had a pair.
Three outta three ain't bad.

Yeah, Horseshoe. You stand at the business end of a Caesar's gladius. Just wait until the Senate votes to change its by-laws so they can stuff Alito down our throats. Remember, he can do anything he damn well pleases.

you thought Alito was anything other than a lock?

"Just wait until the Senate votes to change its by-laws so they can stuff Alito down our throats."
The by-laws you refer to will only be changed if they are abused. Even still, it would benefit the Dems, who are likely to usurp Congressional power in the no-too-distant future. So why you crying, Cozmo?

Not exactly crying, Coop. Just remarking on the current "do any thing we damn well please" attitude in Washington. As a long-standing centrist with Federalist leanings, I'm against the fillibuster and cloture rules being changed for ANYBODY, regardless of party. It's a good system that requires at least some level of compromise by the majority party. It keeps Senators at the bargaining table instead of driving through whatever it is they damn well please.
Unlike my other fellow registered Republicans, I am not willing to shit my principles down the toilet just because my party happens to be in power. But hey, that's just me.

"It's a good system that requires at least some level of compromise by the majority party."
And no level of compromise by those filibustering.
